[SOLVED] m2 SSD Lifespan - "Clean" with diskpart and "quick format" with disk management

Hi!

Does the "Clean" command with diskpart (opened with cmd) reduce the lifespan of a m2 SSD?

Does the quick format of disk management (in windows 10) reduce the lifespan of a m2 SSD?

I have bought a new m2 SSD (Samsung 970 EVO) and did around 20 clean command with diskpart command (CMD) and 10 quick format (windows disk management).
I am thinking about to exchange this drive.

Show us a SMART report from CrystalDiskInfo. I believe your formatting and cleaning would have written very little to the drive.

Warrantied TBW for 970 EVO: 150 TBW for 250GB model, 300 TBW for 500GB model, 600 TBW for 1TB model, 1,200 TBW for 2TB model.

Your 10 quick format and 20 clean didn't do anything.

If you take the 250GB model at 150TBW. That's 10 years at 41GB everyday.

Oh, when I understand it right, the actual info graphic shows me that the clean and quick formatting have written really little to the SSD, am I right?

These commands just TRIM written blocks to mark them as unused for future erasure. This doesn't induce wear if there's no data/writes as they are already unused.

Yes, which is noted by the total writes. If you never wrote data there's no need for it to be erased, unless you specifically overwrite the drive (which takes time).

For that amount of operations, you lessened the lifespan by a month or two.
Out of a decade or three.

But...why would you do that?
