Question M2 thermal pad question

I need to remove my m2 drives to get the serial number off them and I have a question my motherboard comes with pre applied thermal pads that go ontop of the m2 when you put the shield thing on them, if I remove the shield thing with the pad will I need to get new thermal pads to put over the ssd? Or will it be safe to just put the ones on the shield back again
Motherboard is msi mpg x670e carbon wifi
Ssd are Samsung 990 pro drives

If the thermal pad in question is clean and still retains its original shape, then generally, yes. If it seems damaged or mishaped, it may be a good idea to replace it. Just ensure the pad has good contact with the SSD when you are putting it back.

Samsung Magician can tell you serial number.
