Hello so I have a m5a97 evo2/m51bc was wondering would it be okay to use usb 3 drivers for wndows 8.1 for a m5a97 r2.0. Thank you for any responses

If you look at both drivers support page:

you'll notice that the driver versions are the same aka Asmedia USB3.0 Controller Driver V1.16.12.0 for Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1 32bit & 64bit.(WHQL) while they both employ ASMedia controllers for the USB 3.0 ports.
