So I'm doing a👎 black and blue PC build and the M5A97 caught my attention. But then I found the M5A99x PRO and I was hooked on that too. I'm not oppose to buying either one, but I'd like to know which one would be better for the money. I can barely overclock with an FX-8350 and I do have an after-market cooler (Deepcool GAMMAXX 400) but I'm getting off topic. I'd just like to know if I should get the cheaper M5A97 motherboard and possible get something else like another 1TB harddrive or ram, or spend a little more on the M5A99x Pro for possibly better quality.

Thanks.

For long term gaming, or especially for overclocking, the pro gives better capacitors, more power delivery, and overall better built materials.

I'd opt for the...

I'd opt for the better mobo, you can always save an 'add' a hard drive later, apposed to 'replacing' a motherboard later.

I'll also note I regrettably started with the cheaper, then went full custom cooling for a mx over clock on my 8350, and ended up buying the pro. So, basically went $30 cheap the first round and then spent $140 later on. But been like 5 years now and my 8350 (now kids gaming/media pc) is still kicking no issues. 4.8ghz, max hit I belive was 5.1ghz but dialed it down.
