M5A97 Problem

Recently I was boring my brothers PCI wireless adapter waiting for my usb one to come. I got my usb adapter and my brother removed the PCI card from my motherboard while the system was powering down. Now my system takes forever to login and has a long black screen between the windows boot logo and the login screen. Did removing the adapter like that seriously mess up my motherboard or other parts?

I would say almost certainly. Never a good idea to remove components from a PC while it is on. Cept for USB devices and whatnot. May want to take it apart and reseat everything, or try another PSU or RAM if ya can. Never know what it damaged.

crap. i already tested psu and ram and they check out. hard drive checks out.

ill reseat everything and see if that works

Can try removing the battery on the CMOS as well and resetting the BIOS and putting your settings back in. Worth a shot. But removing cards from slots while its on, cant say what a big no no that is. Hope it helps.
