M5A97 R2.0 with fx 8320

I wanna overclock my rig to a safe extreme level without damaging my components.
My rig :
Asus M5A97 R2.0
AMD FX8320
CM Hyper EVO 212
12 gigs kingston DDR3 HyperX RAM
450 Crossair PSU

Please guide me completely to OC my rig as I am Completely New in the world of OC.

Not a great board for overclocking and the the Corsair VS is not a PSU you should stress much at all , some mild overclocking should be fine.

The gains would be minimal.

First of all, overclocking is a procedure where you put the CPU past its limits. Only start this if your temps and PSU are adequate for the job. Use a program such as HWMONITOR, Speedfan or Speccy and verify your temperatures and voltages are within normals.

The procedures for overclocking starts at page 68.

Once you understand the risks, then you can either use the auto tuning controls, or try to create a custom overclock. As SR-71 has said, your PSU might be underpowered for overclocking this computer.

For Temps with AMD you need to use Overdrive , most software reads them incorrectly.
