So I have a fairly old mac monitor (2011 I believe) and it only has 3 connections. A regular usb, mini display port, and a special connection for macbooks. Is there anyway I can hook up the monitor to a ps4 with some sort of mini displayport to hdmi converter? I haven't seen anyone do it online so I dont know if it is possible.

Unfortunately you can't make HDMI go to something more complex. In this case you can't make HDMI convert to displayport. but you can always go down to less complex of a connection. So DP to HDMI for example. There are ways of getting things to work around but it's time consuming and a hassle that will cause you to buy other adapters and hook it all together with no guarantee that it'll work. If the monitor was made for mac then that's all it'll work with for the most part. Sorry.
