[SOLVED] Mac not starting! Plz help!

Working fine for days, then close the lid while it was being laggy one day, come back a few hours later and boom won't boot! What happens is very wierd, when I try to boot it back up it first goes to a regular white loading screen with the spinning loading thingy and stays there for about a minute, then changes display to low res blue then to slightly grey then back to white all within 10 secs, then the cursor turn to the spinning beach ball, then the top bar shows up empty except for the apple icon and search icon. Then ( really wierd ) my current wall paper tht I was useing before the problem shows up! But no applications or desktop items show their faces. Safe boot won't login. Disk utility said all was cool on everything I could check. Plz help.

What all did you complete in Disk Utility? Did you select the storage disk or the partition? Did you repair disk permissions?

Any new software installed recently?
