Hello again TH Community,
Bit of a loaded question here.
I've been producing music on a Win7 based machine for a couple years now & am converting over to a MacOS based studio as the programs I use seem to run significantly better on the Mac side (Pro Tools / Logic Pro X / FL Studio 12).
I was curious to see if anyone here still uses a Mac Pro 4,1 or 5,1 and what they've done in the way of upgrades to keep things more modern... GPU upgrades, BT4.0 or PCIe to USB 3.0 etc... Are these still worth picking up over say... a 2011 iMac with upgradeable RAM / Storage?
As for the question of the processors how does a 2 x Quad Core Xeon actually compare to a more recent generation i5 or i7?
I'm not entirely fond of it but I could be open to just upgrading my current MoBo & CPU (i5-3470k) and ditching the idea of running MacOS and Logic entirely...
Thanks in advance!
