All it takes is for you to start thinking.
I am done responding to you, man. Go try and irritate someone else, somewhere else.
Amen brother.
@Tom2u
It's obvious you're the typical douche magoo. Lots of Whisky Tango Rednecks go buy these big flashy trucks, and do all sorts of stupid things to them because they think they look cool. Why the truck? In most cases they use it for work, hence it's a tool. So why not just go buy (Hey Tom2u did you notice I spelled it correctly unlike you) your typical stock broke azz Ford F One Crappy and get your job done. (Yes, I do own an F-150 for hauling around my Dirtbikes, and other toys when I don't want to take my Motorhome which has the bike rack on it) I used to use one of my cars as a tool. It was great publicity, and generated a lot of interest/buzz when I showed up in it to events. People see a nice car, and instantly equate that to success. Marketing Tool. Who do you think people gravitated to the most. The super buff guy in the nice BMW or Mercedes, or the average looking guy in the Aston Martin. I can tell you from personal experience, it was the Aston 9 times out of 10. The 10th person was either a friend of the BMW guy, or didn't know cars. Go figure. People need, (love) to interact with their tools. People get a reaction when interacting with their tools. I'd much rather hammer on a roof with a pink hammer equiped with a hand grip over your typical wooden shaft hammer. Why? Because hammering nails for hours at a time gets a little hard on your hands. Yes, Macs are "artsy", yes Macs tend to be a bit more expensive. But tell me this. Can you go replace the motherboard out of one of them Dell computers with your standard Motherboard? No, not really. Why? Because they are propriatary just like the Apple ones. Get the cost of that Dell motherboard, and compare it to the Apple one. Not much difference.
Clothes? Can be a tool. Say you're trying to impress for that really big job you've always wanted. You want to look nice. You get nice tools (clothes) to help you get the job done. Want that super hot chick at the club to notice you. If you're not the dude in the booth spinnin' the music, chances are, if you're not dressed nice, you're not going to get noticed very well. Tools.
Calculators. Realestate Agents have specialized calculators that they take with them everywhere. They use the special functions and such to help them answer questions for consumers like (If I only put $80,000 down on the house and pay over 5 months at a 3.4% rate for 5 months, and then bump it up to the 5% for the rest of the term, how much will I save, over doing it such and such way) Haven't seen that calculator on a computer yet. I did have the app for iPhone though. (Android, BB, and WF didn't have it in their craptacular app stores when I was looking around for it) Tools (So I guess my example falls into the 1% margin you noted) I'd much rather walk around with my HP calculator than a laptop with the same calculator software running on it. Just my thought.
Laptops. I use my 17" MBP in my DJing career. Yes, it's a little bit on the heavy side for something I have to port around with me frequently, but it's solid. Rock solid. I've played shows with other DJs who use Windows laptops, and have had to "come to the rescue" when their Windows machine craps out in the middle of a set. My MBP has never ever let me down. When I first got my MBPs I got a pair of them. They were identical builds. Everything was mirrored to the other just in case. You're stupid as dirt if you don't have a backup in live situations. But I wound up selling one of them 1.5 years later because I NEVER had to use the redundant machine. And you know what? My resale value on it was awesome. In my day job, if I had the opportunity to stare at my monitors all day, and to the side see a fairly sleek looking "Trash Can" rather than the dull Dell box, I'd feel a bit happier. Interaction. Plus I'd know that they were professional grade components inside, not the standard Newegg i7, etc. Yes, there will be machines that guys can build cheaper that will out perform them, but how stable will they be? Will they be 99%+ uptime? Not likely. But there will be exceptions. I'm a Windows Administrator at a fairly big global company, and we deal with Dell and Apple for all of our computer hardware. Yes, the Dell section is substantially larger, but the ratio of problems / vendor is a huge landslide in Apple's favor. I recall only seeing 1 problem ticket regarding an Apple product in the last year and 3 months. Compare that to the 30 - 40 the help desk sees daily for the Dells in our fleet.
Bottom line. It's not the Braindead fanboi's who flock to Apple products. It's the people with the knowledge, and wisdom to NOT shelter themselves into their train of thought. I used to think Apple products sucked donkey butt. Then I tried one, then I bought 8, I love them. I still have my Windows (only used for gaming these days), Linux, Solaris, and VMware systems at home, and I love them all too. But when I have to perform live for a crowd, or have to run a computer system with as near 100% uptime, I'll stick to my proven Mac. And who was it that made mention of BeOS? I loved that OS! I really wish it caught on. Best error messages ever! -- I'm sorry, your computer does not appear to have a sound card installed. Therefore, I can't play cool music for you. Bummer (instead of OK)
Sorry for the novel, but Tom2u just riled me up with his gibberish, and obvious lack of wisdom. Go pet a burning dog or something.
