[SOLVED] Macbook Pro 2010 hard disk fail

I have a Apple MacBook Pro 2010 and the flashing folder with question mark is on the white screen on boot. the hard disk where the osX is installed, is not founded the disk utility on the restore screen. I brought it to apple for an appointment a few months ago and I have no idea but paid for the amazingly high fee for the repair they said at first it was the hard disk that was failing at the appointment but when they brought it in for repair they said it was the wire for the hard disk connection. I had that fixed and now it happened again the folder with a question mark. Now I want to see if I should take a 2.5" hard drive from my old PC and install the osX into the hard disk. Would this work for the MacBook to boot? and is there any activations like windows?

You paid Apple to repair your computer and it is still not working properly. Take it back to the store and get them to do the job properly this time.
