Hey guys, im using macsfancontrol, so i changed my fans to kick in since 60C up to max 75C.
I can hold CPU temps at 70C and GPU higher 50´s C. There is no problem at all, but whenever i want to check my fps and cpu temperatures with msi afterburner (btw im using bootcamp WIN10) temperatures jump a lot higher and also fans are spinning faster. Thats weird, because i havent done anything with settings, i just wanted to check temps and fps while gaming on screen, without jumping back to desktop and checking some HWmonitor apps.
Can u tell me what is happening? Why some app like msi afterburner makes my macbook hotter? If i turn the MSI app off, fans are almost silent, they just kick in when temps are close to 70C-75C.
Can you guys help me with some similar and good app?

Solution
Try completely uninstalling MSI-A and using the standalone RTSS. See if running RTSS causes this issue with your fans and temps to ramp up. If not, then you are good to go. If so, then you might have other problems.

Unfortunately, MSI isn't your problem. It's the fact that you are doing this on a Mac. But as for your fans kicking in when you run MSI, perhaps you have some settings in MSI that are causing overclock on the GPU? This will bring the temps up and cause your fans to kick in sooner. As for temps that you are referring to, what exactly are you monitoring temps for? The CPU? The motherboard VRM's? The GPU? (if there is one along side the CPU). You need to provide more information about the system and the things you are monitoring.

P.S. - Why do you have MSI afterburner anyways? You only need it to overclock graphics cards. Unless you have it in order to use RTSS for monitoring temps and such with an overlay in full screen programs. At which point you can just get RTSS by itself.
Click the following link and wait a few seconds for the download to either start or popup.

Be sure to completely remove MSI afterburner and all of it's associated programs and features.

Hi,
Well first of all thank you for the link provided. The temps of GPU are not problematic, only CPU has some overheating problems i would say.
Im using macs fan control, and i can change settings so fans kick in sooner and harder. But there is option to check temperatures of CPU PECI, Proximity, Cores 1,2,3,4. I dunno what should i control for the fan utility.
BTW, it is PRO 15”/2017, i7 7820hq/radeon 560

Nope, no problems at all. I guess the problem was in msi, dunno why...
