I'm not entirely sure if this is the right forum, but i couldn't think of anywhere else.
I have a mouse that has two extra buttons, 1 on each side, and I was wondering if there's a program I can use to assign macros to those keys. Does anyone know of any, or if macros just have to be built into the mouse to begin with?

Solution
It depends on what type of buttons those are. Many mice have a Mouse 4 and 5 button, which can be programmed with 3rd party macro software, like Autoit and Autohotkey or the mouse's software. However, if those buttons perform special functions related to the mouse, they may not be programmable.

Those are the default actions of mouse button 4 and 5 (I believe autoit calls them Mouse button x1 and x2). They're probably is programmable software that came with the mouse which should be online somewhere. Otherwise, you could use something like autoit or autohotkey to program them.

ok thank you
