MadCatz has been trying to turn in a new leaf. In fact the last bit of MadCatz hardware I bought (a $150 SFIV Tournament Edition arcade stick) is probably the sturdiest bit of gaming kit I've ever bought in recent memory.

please make tuan order one so he can tell us how well it works ; he could test it on the mousepad he probably never got 😛

are they corded like all the other current gen gaming mice? or is there a cordless version? I'm hunting for a new gaming mouse, but appearently only the microsoft one's workable - and has a reputation for having a rubbish mousewheel and at times unreliable pointing..

The mouse is a saitek product in their cyborg range. If you visit saiteks online shop the mouse retails for less than £60 if the prices you're referring to are of the mouse or something.

"Saitek's joysticks have always been pretty good."

I have a Saitek X45 here that cost me almost $150. It was their flagship product when I bought it, and it sucks bad. Good thing they stopped making it. The joystick movement studders because of the rubber boot making fine movements almost impossible. Also, you can't reprogram the rudder control on this on, so you're stuck with the rocker switch on the throttle control. Saitek's answer to the studder problem was to put some melted wax in the area where the stick contacts the boot. There were some complaints about this on their forum, I wish I had of read them before I bought the stick. So they new about the problem, but continued to sell the stick knowing it. Their X52 might be better, and it may have had this problem taken care of, but I'll never know because I'm sure not going to order it to find out.

These mice look kind of cool. I'm using the Logitech MX Revolution, which I really like, however it could do without the thumb rest as well (someone else commented on this). I find a thumb rest on mice make it harder to pick it up when you need to, but even with that I still love my mouse. However, this mouse was also $130 CDN. Really good, cordless mice are not cheap. Really cheap cordless mice are not good because of lag issues..

I can't say I was impressed either last time I had a saitek product in my hands. But I've heard mostly good things about their newer products, so I would consider buying one of these mice - once the R9 product is released (wireless version of this mouse). Along with the saitek cyborg keyboard it'd be a blast I'm sure. Just hope it isn't as rubbish as the gamepad I once bought ; the 25€ it cost was actually a lot considering how poor it was.

All my PC peripherals are Saitek. I have Cyborg Keyboard, Mouse and Gamepad. I love them, and won't chose any other brand. I never realized Mad Catz bought Saitek, nor can I tell in these products. I will be getting a RAT, just because if 2 years of being owned by Mad Catz hasn't done anything, I doubt 2010 will be any different. Saitek

We (UK) wish it was that simple. But its not, the pricing for UK will be completely different, however, if you from US Im sure somebody can send you it as a gift to avoid UK taxes...

If the tax rules are similar when receiving gifts from the usa or sending to it, then he'll still have to be taxed unless a family member gifts it - and it is within the value limits set. That's at least the rules when an EU resident receives a gift from someone outside the EU. I'd assume the outside world does something similar to keep up with eu stupidity.
