Well, I use my computer to work and I need all those apps that you mentioned, so I’m not really concerned that they’re spying on me at work which is all I do with my computer

they can clearly see that I don’t have much of a life and then I work all the time lol

as mentioned above, your phone gives away a lot more about you than windows does

if it ever does bother me that much, I’m just going to install Linux and run with it. I already use it on a daily basis for work in virtual machines that I could easily run Linux with windows as a virtual machine for work.

Well, being paranoid about data protection is part of my job and I guess it shows.

But I dislike Microsoft displacing popular apps with stuff of their own on principle, especially because they give it preferred treatment e.g. with their browser or much earlier with their media apps. Back then the EU still forced them to unbundle the media stuff, these days they are much worse and unfortunately don't get slapped. Companies should not compete with their customers, but the bigger they are the less they resist being despicable.

When I buy an OS I don't what that purchase to be turned into a license for dealing away any bit they can observe. It's intrusive, disloyal and plainly illegal in the EU, but so widespread even here, that GAFAM just keep on pushing the envelope and overwhelm the short staffed data protection agencies which are officially tasked to stop this.

And I don't even see how it is really good business in terms of consumer analytics, beause I'm far too busy to be coerced into buying anything I don't need.

Yet in terms of business insights it puts them in a far too privileged position, should they ever want to compete with any service my employer offers. And again, that violates anti trust regulation and I consider it quite insane that any IT service provider should be using Office 365.

Most of my work is on Linux, too, but when it comes to the occasional gaming, it still falls short, which is why the workstations are dual-boot.

Hi, I have installed Tiny on a Satellite Pro U300 that had Windows Vista.
I noticed that Tiny Windows 11 shows it needs to be activated.
Never thought about how to activate, do I use the Vista product key?
Thanks.

Can you game with Tiny 11 OS? Would fps be better on a cutdown win 11 versus the regular version?

A video on this would be nice if not already done.

I know in the old days when I built a PC I always used Windows 98 laptop install as it seemed to make everything run smoother. But of course compared to today's hardware that is like tar speed.

I...don't understand. There was already a popular tool for installing Windows 11 on unsupported machines (TPM check disabled) and bypassing the Microsoft account requirement, and aside for giggles it's highly unlikely anyone interested in using Windows 11 will have a machine in 2023 with less than 8GB of RAM (or less than 16GB if it's a machine with DDR4) so the fact it runs on 2GB of RAM is fairly meaningless.
The fact that you may have a laptop with soldered RAM that you can't upgrade, and 8 Gb of RAM with Windows eating up half of it at boot makes it very hard to use?
I had to upgrade all the laptops at work to 16 Gb because Windows + Teams + Skype + Chrome = swap like mad (and crash). Unfortunately, a couple of them had soldered 8 Gb of RAM and no expansion slot, functionally bricking them - Tiny11 would allow me to make use of them again for a little while.
