how to make MSI Z370-A pro boot with Intel ssd 760p on NVME m.2 slot?
In the bios status I can see the Intel ssd 760p drive as Intel SSDPEKKW...(the product code) on M2.1 but it's hidden from the boot menu.

I tried also with Vantec M.2 NVME SSD PCIe x4 adapter, did not help

Btw I tried the above with different combination of Windows10 whql and windows 7 support, uefi, uefi+harddrive,

I cloned the w8.1 on Intel SSD 7 using the Vantec adapter and intel acronis using member partition.

will it help if I re-clone using Guid partition?

I also tried with or without drive attached to SATA1 slot - the Intel SSD 7 always show in bios status but hidden in the boot menu

Master Boot Record (MBR) partition is not allowed when booting a PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 drive.

Z370 Chipset motherboards do not support the use of Windows 7 or 8.1 operating systems.

I would not recommend doing any cloning to a bootable M.2 NVMe drive from other kind of drives.

NVME SSDs do not appear within the BIOS until Windows creates the system partition with the EFI Boot Sector. Your M.2 SSD contains UEFI driver information within the firmware. By disabling the CSM module Windows will read and utilize the M.2-specific UEFI driver. This is not anything the drive your CLONING from does or did.

You should be installing Windows 10 to an empty M.2 drive. (no format or partitions)

The M.2 drive has to be the only drive installed.

Go into the bios, under the boot tab there is an option for CSM, make sure it is disabled.

Insert a USB memory stick with a bootable UEFI USB drive with Windows 10 Setup on it, USB3 is quicker but USB2 works also. A Windows DVD won’t work unless you’ve created your own UEFI Bootable DVD.

Reboot and the install will begin.

thx, Calvin, I was hoping I could avoid the time consuming fresh install and installing quite a few software and configuration.
one more thing, I can still attach non uefi formated existing drive to sata 1-6 with the uefi and no uefi setting, right?
