I would like to move data files from the C Drive to the D Drive and make the D Drive the default drive. Clear directions for this scary task I would appreciate.
Move to D:\ and paste (you can delete those you copied from C: after you confirm they are on D.
Then go to Libraries\Documents, right-click on Documents and select Properties. Press the "Include a folder" button and select D:, then press the "Include folder" again and D: will appear below My Documents and Public Documents.
Select D: and right-click, then "Set as the default save location."
I have Office 2003 and I had to change the default drive and folder for those files by using Menu>Tools>General tab in Excel and for Word, the File Locations tab.
treefrog07, thankyou for taking the time to post such a detailed (and easy to follow) response. A Dell (Win7) laptop was given to me and the C drive was not only designated as the default drive, but it also housed the OS. The result was the C drive only having about 3% available drive space. By following your simple instructions, I was able to make D the default drive. Thanks again!
