This article is out of date, Makerbot 2 is NOT now the best 3d printer you can get. In fact, there are many new models coming on the market that do a better job, both in overall options and resolution, with the same plug n play reliability. Generally trolling kickstarter will show you some of those new models. The Hyrel 3d printer is better than makerbot 2 in every sense, at about the same cost, printing at half or even 1/4(25microns) the layer thickness of MB2. Hyrel has 8 head capability, not two like MB2, and is much more precision engineered. MB2 is an excellent machine, and generally is very useful, just not now nearly the best in any sense. There is also the issue of FDM(MB2) vs photoresin machines(FORM1, b9creator), with photo resin machines producing far superior resolution results.

Hmmm, custom PC builder shop building your own ITX cases with this would be a boon! Would pay itself off pretty fast if design is right :)
