i have purchased an internal blu ray drive link is here:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-BU40N-A...=internal+blu+ray+drive&qid=1616349143&sr=8-3

now as i have no slot to place my drive inside the pc, can i purchase one of these sata to usb cables to connect the drive to my pc, link here:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/13Pin-Slim...o+usb+for+blu+ray+drive&qid=1616349405&sr=8-4

i'm a tad confused weather i just need this cable or one similar, or if i need an enclosure as well for the drive to work? any help would be amazing thanks

Why not simply get an external BD player already in a USB enclosure? https://www.amazon.com/s?k=external+blu+ray+drive&i=electronics&crid=2TG48ZPHS5N0D&sprefix=external+b,electronics,166&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_10

Just make sure if you need a BD burner you get one that can burn BD disks, some only read Blue-Ray disks.

If you want to keep the one you bought, I would get a full enclosure for it, they are cheap enough, the bare drive is made for laptops so has edges and cut outs that are hard to work with on a desk.
