Making new PC or getting Razer Blade Stealth and Razer Core

I have 2 options:

1) I could sell my current PC (specs are given below) and get a Razer Blade Stealth and a Razer Core along with a GTX 980 or any other recommended graphics card or;

2) I could make a new PC/upgrade my current PC and get some other cheaper laptop.

I need a laptop for school but I do not want a gaming laptop since gaming laptops are usually much more expensive than their PC counterparts and do not offer nearly the same performance per dollar. So, what should I do?

Current PC specifications:

CPU: AMD fx-6300
GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon R7 250x
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5inch Internal Hard Drive
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3
RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 1600MHz 8GB RAM
PSU: Some unnamed terrible iBall max 500w under turbo load PSU
Case; Unnamed cheap Case

Solution
I would go for the second option, your CPU is good but yes, eventually it will start bottle necking, Skylake is a pretty good choice

I think your 2nd option is the best indeed. You could get a fast but cheap laptop (something like I3/i5 tipe U (low watage), 4G and 128G SSD and get some hardware for your deskopt PC. I'd go for a quality PSu and maybe a new GPU. For PSus, you have some quality ones for 80-130€ (I like the Evga G2 series myself, but there is a ton of options: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html).

Atending to the GPU, I'd rather dont waste much money with Pascal and Polaris being that close to their launch date. Instead, I'd get a second hanbd 290 (which is the same than 390 but with "only" 4G vRAM) for +-200€, as the 900 series is not proving to perform thar good with the first DirectX12 games and banchmarks.

EDIT:
Also, knowing your budget could come in handy :)

My budget for the Laptop + PC is around $1500-$1750 (US$). I guess I can wait for the new GPU's but I am scared my old AMD fx-6300 will be a bottleneck so I will just build a new PC with a Skylake processor.

Any particular reasons for going for the second option?

NEW PROPOSED BUILD:

CPU: Intel i5-6600k
GPU: New Pascal or Polaris GPU (whichever has a better price to performance ratio)
Motherboard: I have no clue, any ideas?
GPU: Probably a some 500W PSU with good ratings
Case: I have no clue, any ideas?
RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 1600MHz 8GB RAM (from original build)
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB (from original build)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5inch Internal Hard Drive (from original build)

I like Gigabyte mobos (no good reason, I just had good experience with them), but keep in mind that all brans will be likely just the same. If you're not willing to get a bunch of extras like M2 port, ultra audio qodec and so on, go for soemthing cheap. Looking at this: https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/motherboard/#sort=a8&page=1&s=30&c=110, I'd rather go for the 3rd one.

Looking at your PSU, this thread may help you: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html. I like EVGA myself as a brand because of their customer service. Also, their G2 and P2 PSUs comes with 10 year warranty and are top quality, so they're good enough. Still, there are a lot of options here, so up to you.

The case is something very personal, as every person likes a different thing. I've tried couple of mid-tower cases and now i got a full tower chasis (Enthoo pro) which I find annoyingly huge. You need to think about air flow, sound (the better air flow, the more louder it will usually be), the looking... In the mid range of prices I found atractive the Thermaltake Core V51 (or v31, v71... up to you), but again this is something that only you should decide, as it's the most visible part of your computer.

Good luck with it :)

I want a good motherboard but it should not be more than $120

The PSU should be more than enough so I can overclock

The case should be cheap ($50-$75) and be pretty basic. I do not care about loudness but size is an issue. Not extremely large. I do not need that. An ATX Mid Tower Case should be good. I do not need to liquid cool but I will overclock the i5 to at least 4.2GHz.

Well, if you can afford those, I'd go for the Z170 D3H (I have the H97 D3H and it comes with a bunch of sweeties, like codec 1150 (best availible), gigabut ethernet 10/100/1000, M2 ports and so on. No led lights tho, but you wont need them anyways. it was said to be the best price/performance H97 model and I'm happy with it. Guess the Z170 D3H will be as good as this is.

A good quality PSU would be the Corsair Rmx 600 or 750, and same applies for any EVGA G2 PSU, both 600 and 750 are top quality models, as well as Superflower LEadex. Go for the cheapest as all of them are almost the same.

Talking about cases, I had a NOX VX which performerd just great, but I think it's just a local brand here. Again, thermaltake has some nice models in the mid-end bracket. I just gave some advices to a guy looking for a chasis yesterday; you may find them useful I hope:

I was thinking this PSU:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K85X2AW/ref=twister_B00NAQB7S0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

It seems very good and is at a good price too. I am just not sure if I should shell out a couple more bucks and get a better one.

I've heard the G1 series of EVGA aren't good ones. Still, I got a 550W tier 1 for 80€ CM V series, not VS), so I think you could just spare 10 more dollars and make your rig just quite better.

I highly recommend chromebooks, especially the toshiba chromebook 2. They are very Light, Cheap $300 for the HD one and an extra $30 for the one with a backlit keyboard and better processor. The battery life is about 6 hours. And for me the fact all my files save/backup to the cloud and I can edit them on my PC, phone, Laptop at any time is great. Not the mention the HD screen on the Toshiba Chromebook 2 is Incredible.

The cons are you can't download any programs like you can on windows, so if your an art student or need a specific program, but the windows word, spreadsheet and powerpoint google equivalents are free and great. Also the build quality is Ok but its all just plastic and no metal unlike some windows laptops.

I then spent the money I saved on the laptop on PC parts. And am very happy with my Toshiba chromebook 2

Hope this helps

Sorry for the late reply, Skylake is very new and a good future build, getting a gaming laptop is cool but like you said, is very expensive, buying a new PC would be best if you can afford it, your current PC is out dated and not much upgrading can be done, unless you decide to go for a i5 4690K, then you can still use the same RAM, but spend some extra cash on Tier 1 or Tier 2 PSU, see link: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

Especially if you are planning on overclocking in the future. What type of programs will you be using on the laptop?

I will just build a new PC and scavenge whatever parts I can from the current one and sell the rest. I will be using it for gaming, a bit of video editing, a lot of programming and just general productivity software and the internet. This build is mainly for coding, video editing and especially gaming.
