Vipre Labs : The detection was based off of a rarely-used and aggressive VIPRE detection method, using folder paths as a heuristic. I want to emphasize “rarely”, as these types of detections are seldom used, and when they are, they are subject to an extensive peer review and QA process.

I'm surprised that Vipre apologized to him....Why?

I happen to work in the Silicon valley as an IT Recruiter, so I'll respond to your statement.

Yes, I'd agree that the list of certs after the name is a little lame. They can list them in their CV under education and certifications, but not SUPER LOUD CAPS AT THE TOP. It is annoying.

But in regards to the University of Phoenix, it is an accredited college, however the "adjunct professor" title isn't something to laud around either.

All in all, give the guy at least the credit he's due in that he's worked hard for his degree and certs, but take that credit away in his arrogance in lauding it and displaying it, especially after a goof like this.

The moral of the story - always make sure that what you are shooting really is the big bad wolf rather than allowing your automated software to recognize it based on a vague impression.

Here in Silicon Valley, anyone who calls it "The Silicon Valley" is a fool who is given strange looks or laughed at. You're probably not actually located in the United States, are you?
