[SOLVED] Managing a new SSD with an old HDD

Hi!
I have a 3 year old gaming laptop which only has a 1TB 5400 rpm HDD and it's gotten really slow.
So I'm planning to buy a 500gb nvme drive to add to it so that I can have windows and a bunch of software I use regularly
My windows is also slow so I wanna do a clean install onto the ssd but still wanna have the programs on my hdd but I heard that's not possible
So what is the best option for me to do?
I also do not have an external drive to back up

I think the best option....that will give you the least chance for problems....is a clean Windows install....and a reinstallation of your programs.
