Mapping a network drive- Password error...Please Help

Hi, everybody. I am setting up a file server running Windows 7 Pro and I am having the most difficult issue of my life. I am trying to get 1 laptop (Windows 8.1) and 2 desktops (Windows 8.0 and Windows 7 Home Premium) to map to the file server. I have tried a registry hack to get it to work (on the Windows 7 Home computer) and it will not work. I tried the Command Prompt option and I got System Error 67. (NOT a BSOD). I have tried Windows Explorer and got the Incorrect Password error. I tried the file server password (admin account), the password for the computer I am mapping from, the password for the respective user account on the file server, the network password, and all to no avail. I am NOT trying to get past the passwords, just trying to get past this issue with the drive mapping. Please tell me how to fix this and thanks in advance!!

Try this, say if your file-server is called FS01, when prompted for a username and password try FS01\"Admin account on server" then the password.
So if you are using the command net use, try N
"net use \\FS01\Share M:" for M insert drive letter you want to use, and press enter, and try doing for username FS01\Admin and then your password.

You could also try creating an account on your other Windows machines with the Identical Username and password and try mapping it through the "map a network drive" guide.

Unless the user knows the admin password they only have access to the file share you mapped as they cannot see it (the password).

In addition to what I said above you can create a copy of the local user account from those computers (same username and password) on your server and set up the share and NFTS permissions as you like.

Edit: Doesn't Windows Home Group do some of these options already?
