While I've been a strident critic of Chinese distaste for copyright and involved in blatant IP theft (although the West basically gave it away when they built their factories in China in the first place), there is now no denying China is a powerhouse of technological development. Obviously they have the population, but they have a government that is wholly obssessed with technological prowess and will spend what it takes. This is an anathema to many countries in the West, including my sh!t for brains Australia.
