running a msi gs73vr 7rf stealth pro laptop
i7-7700HQ
16GB or ram
1060 6GB
250GB samsung ssd
1TB HDD (unsure of the brand)
i also took the liberty of uninstalling all the bloatware i could from this laptop. but after the latest update this is my computer on startup:

and this is the result of running anything of importance (my ableton live, serato and even just chrome in itself):

http://imgur.com/gallery/NuUVc (i have seen cpu temps spike to 90 degrees celcius.)

also, my dragon center tells me that the cpu is barely under any load as well, wich confuses me. i have tried to check for driver errors and looked at some registry guides, but nothing has helped so far. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry that didn't help. It really sounded like you was having the same issue that I was. I also don't think my CPU was getting hot because the CPU wasn't actually being used, only Task Manager and my system fans thought it was.

From the screen shots, it looks as if AVG is taking up a big chunk of the CPU. Have you tried disabling it or uninstalling it?

Also consider trying a [Clean Boot] to see if the issue goes away. If it does, then it was one of the programs disabled for the Clean Boot that was causing the problem. Re-enable the disabled Apps/Services a few at a time until you can figure out which one is causing the issue.

Maybe someone else has some other ideas.

i'll try that, to see if it helps, i have found that artificially capping the cpu helps with the temps a little bit. so i can find the issues. but ill be back tomorrow, and thanks again for the help.

i did try the clean boot and so far it works, i found that it was the microsoft power service that was the issue. i'll run this a couple of days before i call it properly solved. and thank you alot for the help so far!

Great, I hope it keeps working. I also hope it doesn't mess anything else up. I've read that disabling it has also [disabled someone's audio] and someone else had problems with [extreme slowness after disabling it].

Just watch it for a few days and see what happens.
