Question Massive FPS drop when alt-tabbing from game ?

Hi, can someone help me?
I play Valorant, with 170-220 fps ingame, but when I alt-tab from the game or open the in-game overlay, my fps drops to 55-75.

The usual fix for me is to change the display mode from Windowed Fullscreen to Fullscreen and set to any resolution other than 1920x1080 and wait until my fps goes to normal, but I'm tired of playing in stretched and tried to find "fixes" for it

I already tried redownloading drivers, rolling back, deleting them by DDU, booting in safe mode, but it lead to more problems such as the Instant Replay not working(Clicking save but no clip shows up in game.

Are you saying it stays at the lower frame rates? Even if you alt tab back in or drop the overlay?

yeah, it stays at 70 below after that and the fullscreen thing is the only fix

I'm not sure what the problem would be. I only game in full screen. Is there a reason you can't use that? Full screen also allows/sets max performance from your video card. It's honestly best.

I usually use borderless for the faster alt tab and the stream wouldn't pause in discord if you were streaming but I could live with fullscreen
