Hi guys, i am having a huge fps issue when watching a stream from twitch.tv / hitbox.tv and at the same time playing League of Legends, CSGO, anyother game. Even when it's running in the background, when i'm just using 1 monitor.
What is causing this ? My point is that the browser is using a lot of memory out of my gtx 970 or maybe is using direct3d instead using open GL, but i am not sure.

These are my specs:
CPU: i7 2600K
GPU: GTX970 4GB DDR5
Board: ASUSTeK P8Z68-V LE
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Supply: Hummer80 700W

These are the resolutions i put for my monitors:
Game Monitor: 1920x1080p (http://www.cnet.com/products/lg-d2342p/specs/)
Stream Monitor: 1280x800p (http://www.trustedreviews.com/LG-32LG5000-32in-LCD-TV-review)

What i have done (i will update this list on the awsners i get):

- Update my graphic's card.
- Change 2nd monitor resolution to a lower resolution.
- Change both cables, it was HDMI and VGA then i'm using just analogic cables, VGA>DVI adaptor and DVI cable.
- Tried to disable V-sync and Anti-Aliasing, it made it worse in my case i just have V-sync on.
- Changed from borderless (window fullscreen) to fullscreen and same problem happens.
- Thought it was my ram/cpu then i went to task manager to check and i have everything running perfectly, i dont use more than 5gb and my CPU is between 50%-60%.
- Did a clear format into my pc went to test this and same problem happens.
- Enabled/Disabled my cpu graphics card (Intel HD 3000)

What i didn't do:

- Change browser, but i don't really think this is gonna help because i'm using chrome and he's already light.

I know i am using a TV as my second monitor but i really like it, and i use it when i watch films/anime so i didn't want to change it. But is it the problem ?
People told me that the base resolutions for each screen needed to be the same. My main monitor base resolution is 1920x1080p and my second monitor base resolution is 1920x1200p.

If you guys can help me, i already tried everything and it seems that it just doesn't work, or maybe is it that my gtx 970 is broken ?

Nono i just have my browser open and i have my external disk plugged in that's all

what cooler do you have cause even a stock cooler doesnt go over 40c on idle

My cooler is the stock one i just installed it and never changed it again just cleaned it after i got my gtx 970 and it is working.
But why ? The temperatures aren't supposed to be those ?

mine didnt even hit that with stock cooler my temps with stock was 30-34c idle playing league went to around 45-49c with a stream and league 54-57c

i dunno if age can effect temps on a cpu but i know the cooler can and i would probably say buy another cooler like a air cooler or something cause them temps seem really scary

These are my temps on my computer.

When iddle:

When playing league of legends with stream:

When playing csgo with stream:

So guys i did solve my temperature problems all i needed is put a lil bit more thermal paste and my temps now when i am playing CSGO + Stream + other things doesn't exceed 70c.
Now there's another thing that has put me thinking, i am using a i7 2600k and a ASUSTeK P8Z68-V LE which both use PCIe 2.0, but my graphics card is optimized for PCIe 3.0
Is this why i am getting a fps issue when i am watching videos and playing at same time ?

you should be using the blue one at the top where the graphics card can plug into as for the fps lag i get it also so its not just you i think its just that twitch uses video card memory i think and obviously playing a game uses memory aswell so i think its just that

Yeah but i mean that my motherboard and cpu both can just use PCIe 2.0, meanwhile gtx 970 is optimized to PCIe 3.0 and the speed of the graphics card is kinda insane while PCIe 2.0 x16 can go up to 16GB/s , PCIe 3.0 x16 can go up to 32GB/s and i am just asking if that 3.0 upgrade makes a lot of difference.

1-2% loss.

Nothing to worry about.

Okay guys, i went into the shop the guy who sold me the gtx 970 and he said that this is a problem with performance with gtx 970, i sended into warranty and i may need to be like 1 month of wait but i got my old graphics card a gtx 650 1GB vram and i tried to play league at same time as watching stream and it works perfectly even when the graphics are max settings, it's insane lol. @Im_Infinity you said your graphics card is a gtx970 and you got same problem as me, i think you should put yours graphic's card also on warranty, unless you got nothing to switch too.

i have 780ti and and i dont have spare card to use but im getting a 980ti in around 12 weeks anyway so and also the 780ti has been discontinued so im screwed
