Question Massive framerate drop with new Gsync monitor

Hi,

I just installed my new Gsync monitor 165Hz Agon and in games I all of a sudden get extreme framerate drops to +/- 4 fps sometimes and the game becomes completely unplayable and even the xbox one controller starts to shake and have to be reset everytime it happens...

I have a i5 9600K with a RTX 2060, and my previous monitor, the almost the same Agon monitor, but with Freesync technology worked PERFECT!?

I tried to change the ingame and Nvidia control panel settings to no Vsync off and on, but nothing works.. I happens a lot in GTA V and also in the new game Sekiro. Both NO problems with the freesyns monitor..

Anyone has a idea what it could be?

When the FPS drops do you see a spike in cpu or gpu usage? Do the cpu or gpu speeds (GHz) drop? What are the cpu and gpu temperatures when gaming?

The spikes im not sure, but the temps are both round the 50's degrees celcius, pretty cool...

Ok but we need the other measurements. You can use a program like MSIAfterburner.

Wait... i just installed my old monitor... And the same problem occurs... sorry for that,I just installed new driver update, could that be it?

It could be that. The information I asked for should help point us in the right direction. You can try rolling back to an older driver, use the program DDU to remove the current driver completely.

Just a thought.... because of the fact that my controller Shakes like a madman when the massieve drops happen... could iT be a controller issue? IT is connected via Bluetooth ...

Well... i installed the previous Nvidia driver and uninstalled the Xbox controller and the problem is gone... could iT really be the controller ??

Seems unlikely. More likely the driver.

Another victim... so it was the controller... does anyone has a explination ? So weird that a controller dan do this
