So i recently bought a new prebuilt PC with a i9 13900k and 4090 so it generates quite a bit of heat, im aware you can have 3 more fans at the top of the td 500 mesh as my radiator for my cpu cooler h150i elite lcd corsair is at the front and they only put in 1 exhaust fan at the back of the case. The issue is i wanted to put in more exhaust fans but they have installed the cpu cooler so it blocks the top of the case where the fan bracket is the cpu cooler wires are brushing against which is annoying. I can change it but i would have to rewire it all which seems like a pain if its not going to help temps that much. I can add one more exhaust in the top corner by the other exhaust fan should i do this or leave it as 1 exhaust 3 intake? Temps have seemed fine so far when playing games hottest ive seen the gpu is 72 and cpu like low 80s all at stock. Also should i get 2 120mm or 2 140mm as exhaust fans if i get 2.

You could get a single fan at the top of the case placed towards the rear most section of the top, to aid with exhausting air though you should be in positive pressure with that fan setup/orientation.

Back in the day, people did test runs in order to see if what they were assuming would make any real world difference. When forums came around, it was when people who made breakthroughs with their experiments, they shared it with the community. In short, try it out, sure you're going to loose some time and will need to manage wires but you get to learn how the system was put together. Judging from what you stated, I'm assuming you meant they as in the shop that built the system for you. In which case, please note that tampering with the build might cause the shop to in any mishaps to you, perhaps a phone call to them would be appropriate.

Lastly, we've had a lot of people convey their thoughts in text, it's best if you could give us a picture of how the system's innards are. Ambient room air temps?

My last PC i built myself this one i ordered mainly due to the fact i didn't want to spend the time building it so I'm pretty familiar with rewiring i just dont wanna change anything that i dont need to mainly due to like you said if i need to take it back or any of the parts fail.

https://gyazo.com/1a209ca9ed3349af1b010b2b7e88c899 - 3 front fans are intake and the back fan is exhaust, where i was thinking of adding another fan was top left next to the other rear exhaust as its the only real place i can.

https://gyazo.com/2c4fac58f74f63f172362d31f1264f4d - as you can see in this pic the cpu header wire where they have threaded it through to the back of the case is blocking the middle top fan spot which is what i was trying to explain badly and i should of just taken a pic as i know this case can have up to 7 fans.

Ambient temp is around 18 - 20 degrees c

The case internals are nearly identical to an H500(by Coolermaster). Yes the case can work with that many fans, though as you've stated it's impeding you from installing it where you intend to. The images could use a little more light and perhaps without the side panel off but I'm seeing(filling in the blanks) how the person who built/cablemanaged the system went bonkers with the cable ties and aforementioned cablemanagement.

Yeah sorry, the lighting isn't great in my room do you think the best thing to do is to just add one more exhaust then top left as it's about all i can do apart from re-managing the cpu cooler wiring or just keeping it how it is. Im not sure why they decided to do it like that as it completely blocks the fan position in the middle basically seems like they didn't even think about that. It's from PC Specialist which in the UK is basically the most reputable PC building company you can buy from that i know of at least.

https://gyazo.com/c2d9d22a7f854f57d937a093ab382495 Perhaps a slightly better picture, where the top of the lcd display is the wire there is touching where the middle fan would be installed so if i was to put one there it would be brushing up against it

That's what I was stating in my first post,

a fan at the top of the case, set to exhaust, located towards the rear most area of the top panel.

Without any dust filter at the top to prevent any impeding of air by the fan though it does leave the front most area of the case prone to drawing in dust through the non filtered parts(when you look at the other fan mounting locations that aren't occupied).

Can't i just keep the metal dust cover on the top even with a fan there? or do i need to remove that if i put fan/fans there cause the front fans have a mesh covering anyway also. I think 3 intake 2 exhaust is probs the best setup anyway based on the research ive done so i guess it doesnt really matter i cant put anymore in.

This is one of those things that likely doesn't really matter and the actual answer can only be found by trying it and seeing if there is any difference.

In theory at least without the dust filter the air can get out of the case a bit easier. The dust filter itself servers little purpose unless you think there is dust inside the case....and does it matter if you collect it or send it out into your room. Even if the dust filter blocked a lot of air it would still get out of the case though all the other holes like on the back of the case. Now maybe you could make a argument that having the dust filter in place when the machine was off might prevent dust from settling into the case from the top. As soon as you turn it on the dust would blow back out the top anyway you would think.
