Glad to here I didnt screw up its been a bit since I built something. Sadly my choices were limited to an Asus VI Z87 or the MSI Z97m, original computer was stolen so insurance is being a bit of a stickler on what I can order. Plus I would agree with your 970 suggestions but If i dont use up the budget I lose it.

As for the SSD I already own the Kingston but the 840 EVO is nice

His chosen case (Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV) only has 4 expansion slots so greater spacing between the cards isn't possible. He already seems to have bought the SSD (and HDD).

Any particular reason for using 4x4GB memory rather than 2x8GB?

No major reason why I went with 4 x4 gbs just wanted some with built in Leds to stay within budget. I can always go to 4 x 8 gb ram later on but since I only game. I dont believe I will ever need 16 gb of ram for a long time.

You pretty much summed it up, I have to buy everything as close as possible to what I originally owned but trying to squeeze as much out of it as I can (hence the 980s, 4790k, extra ram). If I use less than my maximum budget of $2600 (with taxes) then I lose out on it.

The GTX 980 is Higher performance than 970 about 10% also it's higher price by 60%, so do you think that's a good choice ????

And note that 2x GTX 970 Beat 1x R9 295x2 also beat 1x GTX 980 so think about 3-way SLI !! 😀
