I saw the last post was a year ago but i figured i'd post this because its always the first hit on Google when im trying to find i3 temp info so i apologize for the res erection but think its needed. My win7pro setup is a antec 902 case (all extra 120mm fans installed), gigabyte ga-h55m-s2v rev1.4 mobo, hyper 212 (2 fans installed w/ artic silver) and a i3 540 @ 4.25ghz. i run at 16-20c idle and 58-60c max when video encoding if it encodes for longer than a hour i peak at 60-62c (hits 63 for seconds then declines). gaming runs at between 40-50c. my ambient temp (20-26c) does not effect it that much. i have a gtx560ti graphics card (never goes higher than 40c). i use coretemp for stats my gigabyte bios has slightly lower readings. i noticed that proper coating of the thermal paste is essential for getting below 70c so take your time with it. hope this helps.

I have a core i3 530 @ 3718 MHz ( 169 x 22 ). Stock Cooler, stock voltage, stock everything. Intel DH55TC Motherboard.

Prime95 FFT Tests results in a maximum of 79 Celsius.
Idle temperatures are 39/40 Celsius.

Been running it stably for more than 4 or 5 months.

Here's my thread :

I really wanted to go more, but can't since no option to alter CPU VCore anywhere in the BIOS.

its an i3 530

do you think the voltage is too high?
