Max graphics memory supported by Intel Core i5 4460

Hi guys,
Can someone please tell me what is the maximum graphics memory that an Intel Core i5-4460 3.2 Ghz processor can handle?
In other words, will I be able to use any of the powerful GTX 970 or GTX 980 4GB video cards with the i5-4460?
I am planning to use the i5-4460 with the ASUS H97 pro mobo.
I am not sure if there is a direct correlation between the processor and the graphics card.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You should be able to use any current generation video card up to Titan 12GB or 390X 8GB with an i5-4460, pretty much any video card.

If VGA has 4GB of graphic memory, then all of it is available. CPU choice doesn't play any role on available graphic memory of discrete video cards.

Do I also need a separate cooler if I use either the GTX 960 or 970 with my i5-4460 processor? I mean, is it mandatory to use a custom cooler or will the stock cooler be sufficient?

Custom coolers are mainly for overclockers. Your 4460 does not overclock, so the stock cooler that comes with it will be enough to do the job. You're free to upgrade it if you want but it's not really necessary.
