I have a ton of audio files and I would like to get the largest drive my system can support.

Unfortunately the PC I use for my tunes is dated.

The particulars are:
Board: ASUSTek Computer INC. LEONITE 5.00
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 5.17 04/20/2007
CPU: 1.80 gigahertz Intel Core 2 Duo
Controller:Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 Family) Ultra ATA Storage Controllers - 27DF
Controller: Intel(R) ICH7R/DH SATA RAID Controller

Please let me know if there is additional information needed.

Thanks in advance.

I'm a little concerned as to how big of a drive it'll support. First up, you need to know if your bios is EFI/UEFI. If it is -not- you won't be able to boot from a >2TB drive but you could use it as a data drive as long as you have Vista or later. If you get into your bios, it should say if it is or not. If it doesn't tell you, you need to find out.

If it is EFI/UEFI, you can use a >2TB as a data drive and a bootable drive IF you are using a 64bit version of Windows Vista or later. So - for the most part, if you're using XP, I'm thinking you're kinda limited by the 2TB limit.

Thank you for your response Rookie.

I checked and my PC is using BIOS not EFI/UEFI. So I assume my limit is 2TB, correct?

If it matters, this will be a data only drive. Would a BIOS update (flash) make any difference?

Thank you.
