Max # PCIe lane for G4560

I'm planning to build a budget gaming pc using Pentium G4550, Gigabyte GA-b250-DS3H, GTX 1050 ti and a wifi card.
Will it workout well since G4560 have 16 max # of PCIe?

Yes it will be fine. Wifi card will only use x1 so you have no worries about pcie lanes.

The 16 from the cpu are for the pcie x16 slot which the gpu will be in. The mobo has an additional 12 lanes for the x1 and m.2 slots. Looking at the specs, it seems to not be using them all.

So it will support any PCIe slot up to x16, as long as the motherboard have the lane?
So it's not like :
Gtx 1050 ti + wifi card= 16 + 1 = 17

Your questions doesn't make sense. The cpu has its own lanes, 16. The mobo has its own lanes, 12 for this mobo. In total you have 16 + 12 = 28 lanes available. You are using 16 + 1 = 17. 28 total - 17 used = 9 still left.

No, the Graphics card gets its PCI-e lanes directly from the CPU, all 16 of them, so now forget the CPU, all the lanes are used up.

For the rest of the slots, the x1 PCI-e slots and the M.2 slot, it gets its PCI-e lanes from the chipset on the board, otherwise known as the south bridge which provides an extra 12 lanes, the WiFi card uses 1 so he still has 11 lanes left to play with.

If the wifi card was put in the second x16 slot (his mobo doesn't have) then it will bring the gpu down to x8 because the cpu's pcie lanes are wired to those 2 slots. At least that's for mainstream cpus with only 16 and mobo with no plx.
