I have an Asus RTX 4090 Strix OC with an Alphacool Eiswolf AIO cooler. What is the highest I can safely set the Power Target to without having to worry about the power connections melting? I can go as high as 120%.
And, that will not risk the power connectors melting, or was that issue corrected by Nvidia? The card was purchased in August. I am using the 600W cable directly from the power supply.if your power supply can handle it then yes.
I have the 12vhpwr connector, going directly to the PSU.Leave it alone, I'd say.
-IF your card has the 12vhpwr connector and not the 12v-2x6, don't increase power target. You'll increase the odds something goes wrong.
-The 4090 operates outside of its optimal performance already, as seen here: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/improving-nvidia-rtx-4090-efficiency-through-power-limiting
Then I will stay with my current opinion about leaving power target alone. Enjoy what you got.I have the 12vhpwr connector, going directly to the PSU.
