Do I need a better graphics card or is my CPU bottlenecking?

CPU: AMD FX-8350 8-core OC'd @ 4.2GHz
MB: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
GPU: Asus Geforce GTX 690
FAN: Cooler Master Seidon 120XL
HDD: Seagate 2TB @ 5900RPM
SSD: Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB @ 555MB/s Read & 510MB/s Write
RAM: 2x8GB Corsair 1866mhz
PSU: Raidmax 1200W 80 Plus Bronze

It's usually good unless a lot is going on.
I can get around 60-70fps stable on say, Skyrim.
The main problem is at random times I get fps drop (30-40) in any graphics intensive game.
Skyrim/Ghosts/Advanced Warfare/Assassins Creed and it lasts for a minute or so and happens again after minutes of playing.

allow me to elaborate - by "not that awesome" means that he should have anticipated to have frame dips. anything more concrete and prologued could be more of an software issue and not a hardware one. In some cases formatting helps in other you just purge the drivers, hard to tell. A registry mechanic should be able to tell you what the issue is.

Assassin's creed for example is an ubisoft product - converted from console to pc by the drunkard division. If you have god rays set to high, you can expect your framerate to pretty much to crash in the jungle.
Hey pal, let me tell you something - your PC, not that awesome!

My own PC has frame dips on said games too, skyrim because its modded, but everything else also.

By the way, what's with the 1200W PSU? Did you jury rig your PSU to power a toaster too or something?😀

How about a constructive answer? Did I say my PC was awesome? NO. I asked if it was my gpu or other parts, dick.

BigBadBeef,

Your comment is also inappropriate and is not helpful. Please be more considerate when evaluating someone's rig.

Thanks,
