Monday i will get the Noctua NH-D14.So im wondering what will be max stable overclock for the 2500k?I want something around 5hgz because of the Arma 3.My video card is R9 290 Tri-x
Hm,now i am with the stock cooler. Its overclocked to 4,2 with 1,328 voltage.Max temp at gaming is around 70.So i think the that the chip is nice.
If you need 1.328 to achieve 4.2 then you have a garbage-tier chip like my 3570K that can't get past 4.3 no matter how much voltage i give it. Like i said if you need that voltage for that frequency max you can aim for is 4,3 TOPS. Max "safe" voltage is around 1,335.
I can hit 4.6ghz at 1.4v but it is not worth it for me to run the chip that hard. Sandy Bridge CPU's are not limited by temperature for the most part. It more about what voltage you feel comfortable running at!
As i know 4,5 with the evo 212 (wich is not like h100i or d14,its more poorest) is something normal.Arma is really CPU dependent game.I know that only around 10 procent of that CPUs can be pushed at 5 ghz or over.Im hoping that my can do it 😀 .So over 1.4 is dangerous?
