Question Maximum DRAM frequency for 64 GB DDR4 2400 MHz?

Hello

I was wondering how many MHz I can clock the RAM on my PC, in the BIOS the value goes all the way up to 4000 MHz. Right now it currently operates at 2400 MHz.

The model is 64 GB CMK64GX4M8A2400C14 DDR4.

It really depends on luck. You could up your voltage to 1.35 volts and see how high the clocks to go. You are not going to get 4000 mhz for sure but you may get 2666 or 3000mhz.

Are there any dangers to setting the MHz too high?

Also how do I change the voltage?

you adjust speed and voltage in the BIOS.
the location changes depending on the motherboard you have, but typically the voltage is labeled as "DRAM Voltage"

And the speed and timings can be configured in the "Advanced" configuration section.

There is no danger to setting the mhz too high other than your computer might not boot and have crashes if you set it too high. This might sound bad but after lowering the speed back down your system will work fine again and your ram isnt damaged. Putting the voltage too high can kill and overheat components so watch the voltage.
