Hi guys...
I am planning on upgrading my graphics card. I am from India and my budget is around 7000 INR, the lesser the better. Please suggest me a 'bang for the buck' card.

My current system specs
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual core E5700 - stock speed, stock cooler
Mobo: Intel DG41WV
RAM: Transcend RAM DDR3-1333Mhz 4GB (2x2GB)
PSU: 450W powersupply (Don't know brand 🙁)
Current Graphics: MSI Nvidia Geforce 8400GS 1GB DDR3
Display res: 1366x768 VGA connector
Time of purchase: I will buy the card as soon as someone gives advice
😉
Usage: Gaming

Please link the card from
Flipkart

Another question... what is the most powerful graphics card that runs on my system without bottleneck.....

Thanks in advance... :)

wait what? a GT640 using the same Processor as the 700 series?
the only 2 released in the 700 series are GK-110 (780, Titan) and GK-104 (760, 770)
maybe u meant to say they use the same architecture, Kepler
in that case, yes, go for a Kepler 640 over a Fermi one

thanks for the quick reply.... :)
Both GT640 and HD 7750 are in my budget... And I could get a GTX650 if I waited a month or so...
But, the question is, my system runs on a dual core 3Ghz E5700 with a 1st gen PCIe slot; won't there be any bottlenecking and compatability issues for the mentioned cards.

See, I don't wanna spend money on a card and later find it to be getting bottlenecked or something like that

Thanks

Thanks for your reply...
I would like to buy only from within India. So, your suggestion is out of question for me. Anyway... thanks for your suggestion :)

Don't...

Thanks presler....
So, a GT 640 suits in my system...??
Also... what about radeon hd 6670 gddr5..?? There won't be bottlenecks, right...!!!
These two are too close to call on benchmarks....
From where I am buying, I get a 6670 1g gddr5 for 6k and 640 2g gdd3 for 7k, both cards from Asus. Could you help me out with these?
I welcome any other suggestions.... 🙂
Thanks....

Thanks for the replies, guys....

And for the power supply...
It is a Techcomindia 450w power supply <-- link in here

Other than the specs mentioned in the first message, a keyboard, a mouse, an internet dongle, a smartphone are always connected to USB. Also, a case fan is connected to a molex connector.

Hope this helps you, in suggesting the card.
Thanks....:)

Yeah man, u read it right... It's a verry crraaappy.... psu. 😀
Actually, I too didn't see it till today.....🙁
Thats why I was asking recommendations here... 😉

10amps WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!
please don't throw this psu
gift it to me 😀 😀

if you are buying 7750 or gtx 650 or 7770
you have to need a 400watt psu with 6 pin pci connector(Not for 7750 it can be run on 350 watt)

so, its out of question that my psu cant handle any modern gpu.

OK....... I will buy a Corsair VS450
And also for the graphics card, GTX 650 will be the maximum right...??
If it is so, please help me choose one....

GTX 650 from flipkart.com

Also, don't bother about the budget... as the purchase is not happening soon.... It may take a month.. So, suggest me the best card out there...

Thanks man....

I have already gone very high on budget.... with GTX 650 and power supply...
Also, I believe I won't gain a huge performance improvement if I go with GTX 650Ti over GTX 650, because of my display resolution, and my old system configuration....
So, I will rather stick with GTX 650

No hard feelings... 😉:)

If u can, please choose a GTX 650 for me, it will be helpful to me...

Thanks....:)

 Gimme your address and I will post it to you..... 😉

i would say go for the CX series of PSUs, thy're better than the VS series, thy're a little more expensive but thy're more efficeint and provide cleaner power as thy're 80 Plus Certified which the VS isn't, and for the GPU, if ur'e going for the 650 Ti, better get its 'Boost' version, its much better for a little more money

Thanks guys....

I believe you kept in mind my system specs, when suggesting the graphics card...!!

I don't think so, because with every reply, the graphics card is going 1 tier up.... starting from GT 640, then GTX 650, then Ti version, then boost edition. Now, someone will come and say, "hey, go with the GTX 660 or the Ti version of it, and u will see much better performance." I know a GTX 650 Ti boost performs better than Ti and non-Ti versions of GTX 650, but I want something that will be able to play games at decent FPS on my current system without bottlenecks. Don't just go on increasing the tier of cards.... I think I made myself clear....

And thanks for your replies

I will consider getting the CX series... thanks..
