[SOLVED] Maximum RAM capacity

I want to add more RAM this this laptop, but it only has one slot and the maximum capacity is 12GB. If I add a single 16GB RAM, will is work ok and just act like it has a 12GB stick of RAM in it, or will the overly large RAM confused the laptop and make it "slower"?

The max RAM you can add to this model is 8GB, making a total of 12GB RAM.

There is no warranty that it will work with a 16GB RAM stick, but you can try, it won't hurt the laptop.

I think what you have is 4GB soldiered on the mobo and a 4GB stick in the slot.

If true you can replace the 4GB stick with a 8GB stick.

12GB total.

Thank you all. I will get an 8GB stick then and replace the 4GB with that.
