Hey guys I'm new here and new to computer building in general. I built my computer over this summer, so it's roughly 3 months old. I woke up this morning to find that my computer was completely frozen, I could see everything on the screen but nothing was responding, ctrl alt dlt and etc. So I decided to restart my computer by holding the power button (I guess this is where I messed it up). After shutting down, I tried to start it up and it gave me the error Q code 19(Pre-Memory PCH Initialization is started) and error Q code 32 (CPU post memory initialization).

List of things I've tried that haven't worked.
1. Removing power and waiting.
2. Doing the Flashback with the usb and bios.
3. Clear Cmos on the back of the computer.
4. Removed the memory sticks and swapped places, as well as trying to start it with just one stick.
5. Clearing the bit of dust on the fan (obviously not part of it, but I was afraid it might've been overheated, which I think is highly unlikely. Seeing as how I use it on weekends only.)
6. Checked the Cpu to see if anything was bent or out of place, it wasn't.

My specs: (to the best of my ability) (I'm listing it as I read it from my amazon order.)
Power source: EVGA Supernova 850 P2 80+ Platinum, 850 W Eco Mode fully modular Nvidia SLI and Crossfire ready.
Graphics card: Ge force gtx 1080
Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus VIII Formula DDR4 ATX Motherboard
CPU: Intel boxed core i7-6700K 4.00 Ghz 8M Processor Cache 4 LGA 1151
Ram sticks: G.Skill TridentZ series 32 GB (4x8GB) 288 Pin DDR 4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Intel Z170 Platform/Intel X99 Platform desktop memory model F4-3200C16Q-32GTZB

I've looked up alot of different posts and haven't found the answer so far. Any advice would help for a beginner like me. Thanks!

Check all add in cards are seated and slotted correctly including RAM modules.
In case of any slot contamination, power down the system so no power to MB and blow out the slots with compressed air from a canister. Clean external terminal contacts with Isopropyl Alcohol 95%.

If that don't fix it you will have to inspect the MB CPU socket for bent pins.

@meanmachine41 I tried the first part, cleaned out the stuff with the compressed air. As for the checkign the MB CPU socket, I did check it and there were no bent pins.

Hmm, did you check all your Dimms with Memtest86, Boot up from a USB stick and do 3 full passes on all modules to at least eliminate that possibility. You've done just about everything I can think of.
List your DIMMs part no.?
If still no go then I think it comes down to the MB.

DIMMs (Dynamic inline memory modules) Your RAM Kit.
When you run the test, test each one then run the test on them all together.
With Memtest86 on the USB stick, Boot from the USB. You can continually depress the F8 function key during Post or you will have to prioritize the USB in Bios.

When you say its still not working, What were the results of Memtest86.?
If it passed 3 passes on all modules then the MB is suspect.
You did not list your DIMMs Part No for verification.? Important!!

Well I did download the memtest free version onto a usb. But my keyboard doesn't light up, so I'm assuming the computer doesn't recognize the usb. So I don't think theres a way for me to click f8. What should I do.

Test your USB ports and try switching ports. If they don't work then you may have to update your Bios if your USB or keyboard are not recognized. Latest is 3101.
What is your Bios version.? Bios updates are to address new DIMMs and USB devices.
Are you familiar with your Bios.?

Well I saw you respond to one a while back and thats how I did mine. I downloaded the latest bios on the asus website under the support tab. I have a maximus 8 Formula so I renamed the file to m8f. Put it into the spot in the back that says usb flashback, held the button and waited for it to stop blinking. BUT. The problem is with the new one, I get a completely different code that is unknown inside the booklet. Thats why I actually went back to the second newest one which I believe is 2202.

OK just to recap that you did it correctly. Bios 3101 provides for better system stability so I recommend it.

The file you download must be renamed to M8F.CAP, It must be on its own and the USB should be formatted to Fat32. The port you insert the USB into must be the one at the bottom below the PS2 keyboard port. When you push the flashback button it should begin to blink and once it stops your done.

I don't understand what you mean by the different code that is unknown inside the booklet. If you mean the Qcode listing then that should not effect anything.

As I don't know what has changed inside your Bios, you should check your USB settings, although default is enabled some times they get switched off. Also I assume you installed your OS in UEFI mode with Sata mode selection to AHCI.?
I just don't understand why your Keyboard and Mouse don't work.

Yup thats what I did. But when I turn it on its stuck on 7F, which in the booklet says (reserved for future ami dxe codes). I assume it means that it isn't working. But I still have nothing on my screen, and keyboard and mouse still don't work.

And what do you mean by checking usb settings. I changed it to fat32 so it shouldn't be a problem.

You may have to clear your CMOS back to default once Bios is updated.
Are you saying you can't access Bios and Post stops on Qcode 7F.? If thats the case then you will have to contact ASUS Support as I have never encountered that.

Also your misunderstanding, when I say USB settings, I meant within your Bios>Advanced>Onboard device configuration>Asmedia USB devices should all be enabled.

Meanmachine I just want to mention before I forget. Thank you for all your help regardless of where this ends up (motherboard needs to be sent back or maybe something else) I want to thank you for the time you spent helping me out.

Alright, I pressed the clear cmos in the back just now. I pressed start again and it stops at 7F, and nope. for my monitor its like a blue screen, I'm assuming it means that its not connected for whatever reason. And yeah I think usb is already enabled, for some reason its just not working right now. Ever since I started getting q code 32. But I guess 7F is a step up from q32.

Sorry I could not be of better help whaleonin and I cant for the life of me understand why post would alt on an 7F, Unfortunaely Post will not advance till this is rectified. So I guess ASUS will have to be informed of that. What I will do is post a thread at the ROG Forum as I have good friends there who may shed some light.
The only other thing is your RAM, you did not list the specs.?

You've been alot of help. I really do appreciate it, and yeah I guess I'll just have to call asus later today and ask them. And this is the ram G.Skill TridentZ series 32 GB (4x8GB) 288 Pin DDR 4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Intel Z170 Platform/Intel X99 Platform desktop memory model F4-3200C16Q-32GTZB

Meanmachine, I just woke up to try it again and something happened. All of last night I've been getting 7F, but this morning I got 04 or what looks like to be 09 which stands for pch initialization before microde loading and pch initialization after microde loading

Update: Welp, it was stuck on 04 or 09, mainly cause it's kinda blurred and I cant see it. So I restarted the comp, and it went back to 7F. So guess I'll call Asus after work then.

OK, Well I started a thread at ROG and no reply as yet. I normally get a response from one of the ASUS tech's but I just checked and nothing. ASUS Support are not the best and mainly rely on the Forum to solve more complicated issues but you should report this anyhow.
Do you still get the 7F with a previous Bios version as 3101 is a Beta Bios after all. Explain to ASUS the issue you had with Q code 19, 32 and CPU Red light.

I'm starting to get a picture, by adding up all the issues your having.
Now with Microcoding and PCH initialization problems into the equation,
I am thinking the CPU is the problem and the only way is to RMA the CPU if this continues.
Intel are good with the RMA procedure and you should have it checked.

Yeah I'm trying to call them but the connection for me here is pretty bad. Well when I go back one bios, 2202 I believe, I get q code 19. Same with the one before that, but I'll try to call regarding the 7F, its a better sign than all the others. Honestly I hope it's just the cpu if there is a problem. But regarding all this, is it normal for a cpu to just break down? Or for something like this to occur?

Yes it can happen and Forums indicate it happens a lot. Your situation is quite a difficult troubleshoot as many things can be the problem. Its a matter of elimination but its looking more and more like the CPU. Of coarse can't be 100% till each component is checked.

Now sorry to bother you again. But assuming it's either the motherboard or cpu, all I need to do is contact them and send the thing back? Is there ever any problems, where they refuse to give me a new one for whatever reason?

If you decide to dissemble your system it's best to first check the CPU socket. If bent pins are found and you send the board back, they would void your Warranty as this is considered user fault. Inspect the socket with a magnifier and if bent pins are found you can usually bend them back with a toothpick with care. If your not sure re bent pins then its best to take a macro photo as clear as you can and link here to check.
Intel are good with RMA just shoot them an email requesting an RMA and explain your situation and the problems your having and tests you have done.
