MaxxAudio Not Working

Hello !

I faced the same problem a few minutes ago after installing Windows 10 on my Dell L702x.

The quick solution I found in my case was installing the audio driver provided for the Dell L521X Windows 8.1.

It just works. YEY 😀

is it the realtek driver

Hi, I also have a similar problem happening with my Dell Precision M3800, and the audio quality I get is terrible and there isn't any bass at all. I tried reinstalling my audio driver through Device Manager but it didnt make any difference!

Try downloading updated realtek audio drivers from here http://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/5993-latest-realtek-hd-audio-driver-version.html

I went to dell to download my drivers for my pc and it has been updated and works! So if you have hp or whatever then go to the site and go to driver download

dell inspiron 3437, contrary to all inspiron drivers, this L521X one worked for me too :)
finally, i have my maxxaudio back
yey indeed. 😀

www.driverscape.com/manufacturers/dell/laptops-desktops/dell-system-xps-l502x/509

This is for l502x but should work for l702x as well otherwise just lookup the drivers for l702x on driverscape's site :) the download is a lot smaller than the l521x driver on the dell support site

I don't know if you are still having this issue or not. But today I just got the notification that Windows 10 is available for the Dell X501L. I just updated and everything is working fine! Frome the waves maxxaudio 3 buttons to everything else. I'm sure there will be other updates I need to do. My fan is acting a little weird. But nothing I can't fix with 3rd party software...

Solution: (I have only verified this works on XPS 15 L502X).

Go to Device Manager
Open Audio inputs and outputs
Right-click on current sound driver and uninstall
Open Sound, video and game controllers
Right-click on Realtek driver and uninstall
Open Microsoft Edge and go to Dell Drivers & Downloads
Browse for a product and select XPS L502X
Change OS to Windows 7
Open Applications and select QuickSet driver
Download and save to folder (DO NOT RUN)
Open folder, right-click setup file and click properties
Go to Compatibility and select open in Windows 7 compatibility mode, select OK
Open setup file, follow instructions and install
Open Microsoft Edge and go to Dell Drivers & Downloads
Browse for a product and select XPS L502X
Change OS to Windows 7
Open Audio and select Realtek driver
Download and save to folder (DO NOT RUN)
Open folder, right-click setup file and click properties
Go to Compatibility and select open in Windows 7 compatibility mode, select OK
Open setup file, follow instructions and install. Computer will restart.
Now it should work but if it doesn't, go to C:\Program files\Realtek\Vista
Rght-click setup file and change compatibility mode to Windows 7
Open setup file and re-install
Ta da! It should now work like new.

Ok Guys i think i have found a solution,
All you guys need to do is download windows 8 realtek driver from Dell support, for your respective Laptop, and extract the package (Via 7zip) if its not extracted already in the c:\dell\drivers
From the task manager end task RtkNGUI64.exe in details menu in task manager.

Now search for RtkNGUI64.exe from the Dell\driver\ and and click open folder and copy the complete files from that folder containing this "RtkNGUI64.exe", (note that there will alot of other .dll files and .exe)
then copy your files in C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA, overwrite any existing files
Now run RtkNGUI64.exe, it should will now show maxxwave and equalizer again.
I did this on my friend's XPS 17 702x and it worked.
I hope it works for you.
Cheers!
