MB to compliment Athlon

I would like to get a MB that would best compliment and AMD Athlon 750 or 800 chip? With all the chipsets available I must admit I feel overwelmed when trying to decide.

Thanks

Don't be afraid of this board because of all the problems posted here. You will notice that the Abit KT7 board has just as many problem posts.
And almost all of the problems I have read about here are isolated case, meaning no one else has the same problem.
Its a great board.

It seems that although many people are having problems with the A7V, there is always someone else who has encountered it and knows a simple solution. So don't discount it just because you see it cropping up a lot here. I think its popularity is quite an advantage, there will always be someone who knows what you are talking about if you have a problem. My system works for hours, but not forever...then again I'm overclocked to the max, and running a little hot (Majesty cooler, DOH). Just buy a quality cooler (coolermaster seems reasonable) and go for whatever, make a choice and be happy with the process of ironing out your problems.

I personally like the Abit KT7 RAID. It is super easy to setup and has awesome features. The same holds true for its problems. Many people have that board and have answers to your problems on this forum.

I hope you people are right on the A7V. I was considering the use of the CUSL2 over the A7V because all of the problems one reads about this board. I definitely prefer to use an Athlon over a P3, but I want a system I can rely on. I'm not afraid of some problem solving as long as things work out in the end.

Don't forget about the MSI K7T Pro2. This is a very stable board. I used to disregard MSI until I read an AnandTech article, http://www2.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1374, and this is the only board that didn't crashed throughout all of their testing. And it overclocked as well as the Abit and Asus boards. Definitely look into getting an MSI.

You're going to blow $250 on a board - keep that thought in mind and don't get the a7v. I've had nothing but problems with the board since I first got it a month and a half ago.

I also have a KT7-Raid which has been working great since day one. I took all the components from the KT7 and put them into the a7v, scrubbed the drive and reinstalled the o/s. The problems persisted.

So you may get lucky with the a7v, but then you may not. Just remember, it's your money not someone else's.

I've been using the A7V and though I initially had some setup problems (fixed by changing the "Computer" settings from ACPI Compliant to Standard PC) with my IRQ's (all using #9), it seems, at this point, to be working just fine. Generally no stability issues, though I have an underpowered power supply and thus lock up from time to time. :/ If you are using a 300W + power supply, then you should be fine.

An A7V is a good choice (in my opinion, though some may disagree).
