I downloaded media creation tool for Windows 10. I selected create file for my usb but it went to my disk drive and used up almost everything. It said I needed 8 more gb. I want to get back my space but I don't know which files to delete please help

Yea sounds like some kind of tablet device.

The thing is when you use the media creation tool it will FIRST download ALL the data to the local drive. Once that is done it makes the ISO/Bootable drive. Sounds like it didn't remove the local files.

Find a ~windows.bt folder on the C Drive. May have to show hidden folders. Delete that. That is usually the temp files downloaded.

Also wouldn't hurt to run a Disk Cleanup and make sure to select the System Items button once the menu comes up and just remove everything. This will help free up space. Any old windows version, unneeded update left overs etc.

I got a Winbook with 32GB eMMC. I was able to do a fresh install of windows, deleting the recovery partition, freeing up like 4Gb of...
I selected create iso file for bootable media (usb)
Then i chose 32 bit Windows
I don't understand why it went into my disk space
I already had Windows 10 on my laptop too

Do you by chance have System Restore turned on? That can gobble up space without giving you notice. You haven't given any details about your system, but I have to ask why are you worrying about 27 GB when you can buy a 1 TB HDD for $40?

It does not default to your hard drive.
The MediaCreation tool itself is about 18MB.
Using it to create a USB install will reformat the USB in FAT32, and use up the whole (USB) drive.

Is this a laptop or desktop?
Does the system still run?
Was this a secondary drive that got wiped?

1. This a laptop
2. The system runs but i noticed that my disk space is decreasing to 238 mb
3. No my secondary drive (usb) was not wiped. No iso file or anything went into my usb

Please post a screencap of your current Disk Management window.

The Media Creation Tool gives you the option to download to a USB drive or an ISO file. Since it didn't download to your USB drive, you must've clicked ISO. In that case the downloaded ISO file defaults to Windows.iso and is downloaded to your Documents folder.

Re System Restore, that's an option in the System applet of the Control Panel.

But I have to ask what kind of PC comes with such a tiny amount of HDD space? That's really not practical.

This might be one of those silly things with a tiny 32GB eMMC drive.
My Asus Transformer is like that.

Disk Management screecap will tell the tale.
