Recently Media Player 10 indicates that no burner can be detected ( Sonic
SOHW 812s) therefore I cannot burn anything using it. However other software
including NERO/RECORD NOW will burn. But I cant access my playlists im MP 10
I cannot uninstall and reinstall MP10 because it oindicates it is beibg used
by other programmes. Is it possible for me to make another media player (say
winamp)my default player temporarily so I can try to see if MP10 is at fault
or my actual DVD R/W is not functioning properly

Steve,

If you follow: (start/all programs/set program access and defaults) you can
change your default media player to another you have installed.

To unistall WMP 10 you could try running windows in diagnostic startup,
(start/all programs/run) then type "msconfig" and press "ok" then select
"Diagnostic Startup", click "apply" and "ok" then restart your computer, try
unistalling WMP 10 in diagnostic startup, follow the same route back
(start/all programs/run "msconfig") to do a normal startup.
