Just turn their logo upside down and youll see what comes from that company then tell if you really want to be like that.

Back until maybe 2010 it might have made sense to crave an apple product, nowadays it's pretty retarded with Microsoft offering much better products across the board. Windows Phone 8 devices like the lumia 920 are much better than any iphone, and the Surface is much better than any ipad. Obvioulsy Windows 8 is also better than any mac os. Apple is dead they just don't know it yet because it's going to be a slow death as jobs is not longer there to save the company. The same think that happened last time he left will happen again.

[citation][nom]wemakeourfuture[/nom]Congrats its almost 2013 and you don't have a smartphone but as a consumer you think you're better than someone who has an iPad / iPod touch / iPhone ???[/citation]

I dont have, need, or want any cell/smart phone. And yes as a matter of fact, I do feel better as a consumer for not owning an apple product. I do however sport a tf101, it handles my needs. Just saying...

This just shows how even the rich cannot resist to temptation to submit to peer pressure and adopt what is considered "trendy". For me though, I have bought iPod touch 3rd generation, and after finding out how Apple controls their ecosystem, that is my last Apple product that I will buy. Yes, I did jailbreak the iPod, but I think we should not be required to do this for the products we buy. Now I have several Android devices and some W8 devices, running the applications I want to run, and several of them cannot be found in Apple store.

What app do the others find so great about running on their iPhone anyway? Angry Birds?

Apple products are so outdated its not a surprise the Gates family avoids them. Apple still uses ancient picture icons instead of Live Tiles that provide useful information that updates frequently. There mapping service still isn't as good as Microsoft Bing. The iPad was stylish several years ago, but today's fashion leader is clearly the Microsoft Surface. iPhone is too slow compared to my Nokia Lumia 920 powered by Windows Phone 8. Clearly the Gates would be wasting their money buying technology from Apple.

[citation][nom]Teeroy32[/nom]Soon it will be linux all the way once games are more redily available, but may need a dual boot windows for a while, and I do love my Xbox, only machine that will run newer Halo[/citation]
Yep, otherwise they wouldn't sell nearly as many XBOX 360s

I can't say it's a good thing.

iOS seems quite a bit outdated to those that appreciate Android. ...
yet, I still find much to like about the App Store's offerings though.

nobody cares except the cops in NYC who attribute their growth in crime rate to anything iTarded theft reports.

"If you just took away the jump in Apple, we’d be down for the year," Marc La Vorgna, Mayor Bloomberg’s press secretary, told The New York Times. Crime in New York, for the most part, is on the decline. 2012 saw the murder rate in Gotham City hit a new record low: 414 murders in 2012, compared to 471 in 2009. Which is great! And the police are excited about their numbers, because it means they're doing their job and the city is safe, even if it's mostly because of questionable policies like stop and frisk.

But the one thing holding them back from having a positive year across the board is the confusing increase in Apple-related thefts:
The Police Department said thefts of Apple products had risen by 3,890, which was more than the overall increase in “major crimes.”
Seriously, they have no idea how to stop it or what's triggering it.

uhm the price tag, the ease of use of wiping it and selling it to some one else, or not wiping it and selling it to some one else. hell there are iTards so stupid they pay $200 for a piece of glass.

Don't Complain When Your iPhone Gets Stolen In New York

The vast majority of Bill's fortune is still in MS stock. What message would that send investors if even his family is not willing to use MS products. I can see it being a MUCH bigger deal for someone like the Gates, vs joe consumer.

Nobody cares what you or I use, but if Steve Jobs had pulled out an Android phone, for example, it would have caused a frenzy. Same deal here.

Old news. I heard that the family ban was lifted, after Microsoft finally agreed to allow some mild adult content on their app store. Apparenty the kids have reached an age where they can think for themselves and no longer require the added layer of CCC or "Christian Cult Censorship."

[citation][nom]ojas[/nom]Kevin, Wolfgang and Zak seem to be a disservice to the likes of Chris, Don, Thomas, Paul, Jane, Catherine and the rest who actually make Tom's Hardware a site to go to. I feel sad, since i actually like this site and am an active member of the community.[/citation]

I think Kevin here is trying to troll us with his "consumers have ditched their desktops" line.

Basically this thread in a nutshell: "I don't own Apple products. I own an Windows PC and an Android smartphone. Therefore I am special. Bill Gates bans Apple products because they suck, clearly not because his company competes against Apple. Did I mention I don't own Apple products and that Apple sucks?"

This thread makes me feel like I have an IQ of 170.

oh please you linux people.you said it 10 years ago linux was going to take over the desktop market.im still waiting on that to happen.lol

Wait! Do they even dare ask for such products given that they live in the House That Windows Built?

I heard his house was designed using an Apple computer. Not sure if true, just remember reading it.

Fair enough but 10 years ago, Microsoft wasn't trying to turn your desktop into a over glorified tablet either.

I hear market share could reach 2% in 2013.
*fingers crossed*

[citation][nom]bigdragon[/nom]There is no such ban in my household. We tend to buy whatever works best for a given task. Sometimes it's an Apple product. Commonly it's not. iPhones, Androids, and iPods are all in use here as well as a 360. Microsoft products have always dominated the PCs in my household, but with Windows 8 that may be changing. A Mac is probably in our future.I spent an entire day installing Windows 7 onto a brand new ultrabook because the person I gifted it to decided after 2 days that she couldn't tolerate Windows 8. A whole day. Safeboot, old UEFI implementations, storage drivers, funky networking drivers, drivers that intentionally don't work with Windows 7, and a whole host of other things caused that ordeal to be very painful for me. Never again. If the Gates family wants to intentionally handicap their capabilities by relying on Microsoft products that aren't as good as the competition too bad for them. Bigotry really shrinks your world and limits your possibility. It's too bad they're not operating as a guiding light to Microsoft showing them what products they need to get serious about competing with.[/citation]

It would be bad PR if people knew that Bill's kids used Apple products. And besides, why give money to a competitor? It's not that Bill Gates hates Apple. He doesn't. However, it would not be good PR and would reflect badly on the company.
