Hi i just got a new RAM (corsair vengeance 2x4gb) i want to install it into my current computer which only has one stick of 4gb ram. when i installed it it only showed i can only use 4gb and not 8 i dont know how to change my MOBO so it can run the ram in dual channel

mobo is MSI 760GM-P23 (FX) (MS-7641)

Which OS do you have? If its only 32-Bit is will only recognize 4gb of RAM max.

It shows 8gb memory.

When i open my bios memory it only shows 4000 and how come it doesnt use the full 8gb

Try updating the BIOS and see if that helps.
