Memory card not detected how to format the memorycard

when ever i connect the memory card to the system through the card reader or data cable. it is not detecting may be i think with the virus issue. now i want to format the memory card can u help me please.

Does it recognize OTHER memory cards in the same reader? It might be a reader driver issue as opposed to memory card. Plug it in and then go into Device Manager and see if it's there or any yellow exclamations.

You could also format it in a camera. Most cameras have a format option.
