I have been getting a BSoD, more specifically the "Kernel Security Check Failure".

In my attempt to find a solution and after some research, it was suggested to run a memory diagnostic and to no surprise, I got a message saying "Hardware problem detected".

I then tested each ram stick (2x8gb g.skill trident z rbg) by themselves, one stick came back with no issues, one came back with the "Hardware problem detected".

I let my pc sit for a little each time after I tested. The one that had no errors worked fine, however the one that came back with errors the screen began to flicker after a while.

Basically I'm getting the idea that the one stick is faulty, but I just wanted to confirm that before I gave up hope and looked to buy a new one. This system I built is about 2 years old, and the RAM was working fine for a while. Just recently I started to get the BSoD and other weird issues.

Also, can I even buy a single stick of 8gb g. skill trident z?

Anyways, if anyone can let me know if they think its a faulty stick, that would be awesome. If it's not faulty or maybe there is a way to fix it, that would be great too!

Thanks!

You could also try doing a memtest64 on each stick individually and together, make sure the RAM is the source of the problem. You should return both the sticks if they came together in a kit, and get a replacement for them. I'm pretty sure RAM has a lifetime warranty.
