Hi,
I've seen some posts saying that name brand memory makes a difference. That would be fine and dandy but for 128 mb 133, cas2 mem there is a huge price difference between generic vs name brand memory. In fact name brand costs around twice as much. What is the difference? Why should i pay 2x for name brand?

Thanks in advance

If you don't mind having your system crash or lock up while doing something then by all means save some money on the generic. I am not saying the generic is necessarily all bad but you are taking more of a chance of having reduced reliability. I use micron memory almost exclusively now from www.crucial.com since it is reasonably priced and I trust it more than the cheap generic I have used in the past. Got tired of crashes. AMD systems are more picky about the need for good memory.

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends...

Crucial ram is only $92 for 128 MB PC133 Cas=2.
4 months ago it was close to $180.
It will go back up again, I promise.
Get it now while its cheap.

Yes, right now, the price difference between brand name and generic RAM is not that great.
